Term Dates

Opening Hours

St William's Catholic Primary School and Nursery is open from 8:45am for registration and closes at 3:30pm.

The school register closes at 9am.

At our school, we know that every day counts. When children attend school regularly, they have the best chance to make progress in their learning, build friendships, develop confidence and enjoy all the opportunities school life has to offer.

We understand that there can sometimes be challenges that affect attendance, which is why the latest government guidance encourages schools and families to work together to support children in attending school regularly.

How We Can Help

If your child is finding it difficult to attend school, please talk to us as early as possible. Whether the issue is related to health, wellbeing, family circumstances or something else, we are here to listen and work with you to find solutions.

What Parents and Carers Can Do

You can support your child's attendance by:

  • Ensuring they arrive at school on time each day.
  • Establishing positive morning and bedtime routines.
  • Avoiding holidays during term time whenever possible.
  • Letting us know as soon as possible if your child is unwell or unable to attend school.
Taking Holidays During Term Time

The government continues to advise that family holidays should be taken during school holidays. Headteachers can only authorise leave during term time in exceptional circumstances.
